Applications for a major international startup competition in China is now open to global entrepreneurs, offering government grants of up to $1.4 million (¥10 million) for top-performing projects.
The Hangzhou Innovation & Entrepreneurship Competition 2025, organized by GITP Asia, invites overseas startups and innovators to submit project proposals before 30th May 2025.
Winners stand to receive cash prizes of up to $51,000 (¥370,000), with select projects also eligible for government funding ranging from $140,000 to $1.4 million (¥1–10 million) to support relocation and development in Hangzhou.

Eligible teams must include at least one non-Mainland Chinese member with a Master’s degree under the age of 55.

More than 200 projects will be shortlisted for the semifinals, with 60 finalists invited to pitch live in Hangzhou at the Grand Finals held during the Hangzhou International Talent Exchange Conference.
Startups from industries such as AI, healthtech, greentech, fintech, and smart cities are especially encouraged to apply.
